WHAT YOU’LL DO

Reporting to the VP of Portfolio, you’ll play a hands-on role in delivering a best-in-class experience for 43North portfolio companies, their founders and teams. Seeing their success as 43North’s, you’ll ensure they have ready access to resources to help their operations scale and flourish.

This is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to enhance 43North’s suite of resources and to become portfolio companies’ “go-to” connector for assistance with critical operational initiatives such as talent, business development, marketing, and communications, as well as community and network & more! Fostering community, you’ll create opportunities to educate founders and their teams, host forums for dialogues around growth and improvement and make time to celebrate company wins and milestones.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Committing to finding answers to all inquiries posed by founders and their teams
• Working collaboratively with all members of the 43North team to assist with providing appropriate resources to founders
• Lead and iterate the process of tracking portfolio performance
• Support efforts related to guiding founders through the end-to-end process of fundraising
• Building and maintaining rapport with founders and fellow 43N co-workers
• Immersing yourself in each portfolio company’s industry to best understand the foundation and nuances associated with each company
• Manage tech stack of platforms and reporting tools

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Positive, collaborative, and entrepreneurial self-starter with an understanding of the startup ecosystem
• Intellectually curious by nature
• Demonstrated expertise in relationship management and vendor management from a platform partner perspective
• Team player with a proactive mindset, exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Entrepreneurial empathy to support founders
• Experience with startup investing and venture capital fundraising process
• Ability to build relationships and make connections that our founders and their teams can leverage on a local and national level
• Eagerness to live and work locally in Buffalo, NY, with a passion for the city itself and progress being made
• An understanding that startups deal with multi-faceted issues and have unique, highly specific needs that need urgent attention
• Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to internal and external needs and deadlines
• Experience using platforms and reporting tools such as Airtable and HubSpot or general CRM experience
• A passion for helping early-stage companies and a commitment to helping them realize their potential in Buffalo
