Catalyst Health Ventures is looking to hire an Analyst to its growing team of Investment professionals. This position is responsible for providing support to the firms partner in all aspects of managing the fund including fund raising, investment due diligence and portfolio management. This is a unique opportunity for the right individual to work closely with the Firm’s two Managing partners. Catalyst is healthcare venture capital firm with a primary focus on medical technologies, including medical devices, diagnostics, tools and instrumentation as well as digital health.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in creation of fund raising materials, financial models and due diligence materials
- Generate high quality deal flow by developing strong networks and proactively identifying investment opportunities
- Assist with due diligence on investment deals, coordinating with entrepreneurs and other investors, financial modeling, and IP
- Create clear and concise investment memos and other related materials for the investment committee
- Continually monitor and investigate macro and micro industry trends to recommend areas for evaluation and potential investment
- Create market landscapes and research documents analyzing emerging growth areas
- Develop investment thesis based on market landscapes and Catalyst’s competitive advantages
- Perform valuation assessment and M&A related diligence
- Assist in managing relationships with portfolio companies
- Write internally and externally facing updates on Catalyst activities, portfolio, areas of interest
- Assist in Catalyst’s marketing efforts and social media presence
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a top undergraduate program with superior academic performance
- 1 to 2 years of experience in consulting, investment banking or venture capital preferred
- Ability to interpret data and provide relevant conclusions/recommendations
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Ability to articulate ideas in group setting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
- Strong desire to work in an investment environment
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency with financial modeling
- Basic accounting knowledge is a plus
- Strong interest in healthcare, startups and staying abreast of the latest trends and technologies
- Proven ability to think strategically about products, markets, competitive landscapes
- Proven ability to work independently, while managing multiple projects, often under tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to succinctly distill a large quantity of information and analysis for executive consumption
