VC Associate @ ICONIQ Capital in New York City, NY

The Investment Strategy Group (ISG) is responsible for leading strategic asset allocation and investment selection for ICONIQ’s family office platform. The ISG Investment Associate will develop the technical and core competencies to support the entire investment program, including: investment selection, fund and co-investment due diligence and monitoring, asset allocation, performance analysis, risk management, macro and market research, and portfolio strategy. This role offers a high degree of collaboration with senior team members and the ability to drive results for the organization and our families.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate investment managers and co-investments across public and private markets, including: private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, fixed income, public equity, credit, and real estate
  • Build financial models to analyze new investments and monitor existing portfolio
  • Create investment memoranda to present analysis to Investment Committee
  • Manage database of existing investments and potential opportunities
  • Conduct proprietary research on asset classes and capital markets
  • Build and maintain performance templates and forecasting models
  • Collaborate with investment operations and family office teams to execute investments
  • Work closely with the entire team to drive improvements in the investment process

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum two years of experience in investment banking, buy-side investing, equity or fixed income research, consulting, or other quantitative role
  • Demonstrated record of academic achievement from a top university
  • Passion for public and private market fund investing, asset allocation, and portfolio strategy
  • Understanding of investment principles, corporate finance, and capital markets
  • Team player with a strong work ethic, high integrity, and desire to learn
  • Strong financial modeling (Excel) and presentation skills (PowerPoint, Word)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
