VC Investor @ Madrona Venture Group in Seattle, WA

At Madrona (www.madrona.com), we’re inspired by game-changing technologies, disruptive business models, and the entrepreneurs who build them. Based in Seattle, we have been investing in early-stage technology companies in the Pacific Northwest since 1995, and we have been privileged to play a role in some of the region’s most successful technology ventures such as Amazon, Smartsheet, Redfin, Snowflake, Heptio and Rover.

We are a diverse team with an inclusive culture that seeks a variety of viewpoints and perspectives. We take a collaborative approach to sourcing, evaluating and making new investments, and work as a team to help our portfolio companies grow.  We love what we do, have fun, and respect each other, our portfolio company teams, and our role in the broader community.

We recently started investing out of two new funds and are looking to grow our investment team.

Role and Responsibilities

You should apply for this role if you are interested in early stage investing, love new technology and building products, and are energized by the idea of working with entrepreneurs every day. Maybe you are excited by the idea of analyzing how Clubhouse compares to other social platforms, or perhaps you love to discuss why serverless will be the dominant application architecture of the future? If this sounds like you, let’s talk.

Investors work closely alongside all other members of the Madrona investment team including fellow Investors, Partners, and Managing Directors through each stage of the investment process from initial meetings with entrepreneurs to due diligence and investment recommendations. Investors also work closely with entrepreneurs at Madrona portfolio companies, attending board meetings and actively supporting our companies on strategy, finance, go-to-market and sales, operations, product, and everything in between.

In addition to new investment and portfolio company work, Investors will drive strategic initiatives such as researching and developing investment theses on new market opportunities, as well as developing ways for Madrona to systematically support entrepreneurs and the Pacific Northwest startup community. Investors also play a major role representing Madrona in startup events and programs, partnering with the organizations that shape our local startup community, and sourcing new investment opportunities.

While there can be flexibility, this position is expected to be roughly a two-year role. At the end of their tenure, past Madrona investment team members have gone on to found or join startups, established technology companies, and other investment firms.
