TCG Capital Management (“TCG”) is an investment firm based in Los Angeles/San Francisco and invests in consumer internet, media, commerce, sports, and wellness companies. Investments include Food52, Everlywell, Headspace, MeatEater, Barstool Sports, The Action Network, The Athletic, Hodinkee, Surfline, Scopely, Sketchy Medical, ShopShops as well as many others.
TCG is offering a portfolio-wide internship program for the summer of 2021. TCG and many of our portfolio companies are looking for talented undergraduate juniors, as well as MBA candidates between their first and second years. The program will place interns both at TCG and at individual portfolio companies for a total of 10 weeks between June 7 and August 13. Given the challenges of the current COVID pandemic, this year’s internships will likely take place remotely. Listed below are all of the individual positions TCG and participating portfolio companies will be filling. When applying for the program, please indicate which of the positions for which you would like to be considered. You should only apply once but can indicate interest in multiple roles.

A) TCG – Summer Investment Associate
A summer investment associate will become an integral part of TCG’s investment team for the summer and will focus primarily on sourcing, evaluating, and executing growth equity and/or buyout investment opportunities. The summer associate will also be exposed to other TCG initiatives and broader company strategy. Finally, he/she will have frequent interaction with senior executives as well as entrepreneurs in the sectors of TCG focus.
What we’re looking for:
- Demonstrate a strong interest in consumer-facing sectors
- Preferably candidates with finance, consulting, or corporate development experience
- Flexible disposition, entrepreneurial spirit, analytical aptitude, and self-starter mentality are essential

B) Portfolio Company – Engineering Intern
Engineering interns will spend the summer working with one of our portfolio companies. In addition to this work, engineering interns will be apart of a broader TCG internship curriculum that includes speaker series, mentorships with direct managers and TCG investors, resume builder, leadership presentations, and more.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience developing and launching a meaningful product/project from scratch
- Self-starters
- Position(s) of influence in campus organization or other
- Major in computer science, engineering, math, physics, or other fields related to software engineering
- High attention to detail and accuracy and strong analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Experience and interest in data science or data analytics (ex. Python, R, Sequel, or similar) OR back-end engineering (Javascript, Node, React, Noble Development, or similar)
- Any experience in the cloud is a plus

C) Portfolio Company or TCG – Finance Intern
Finance interns will spend the summer working with one of our portfolio companies or within TCG’s Finance Department. In addition to this work, finance interns will be part of a broader TCG internship curriculum that includes speaker series, mentorships with direct managers and TCG investors, resume builder, leadership presentations, and more.
What we’re looking for:
- Proficient in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
- Self-starters
- Major in accounting, economics, finance, or related field
- High attention to detail and accuracy and strong analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills

D) Portfolio Company or TCG – Generalist Intern
Generalist interns will spend the summer working with one of our portfolio companies or at TCG in the office of the COO or Strategy & Data Operations. In addition to a large cross-section of special projects, generalist interns will be part of a broader TCG internship curriculum that includes speaker series, mentorships with direct managers and TCG investors, resume builder, leadership presentations, and more.
What we’re looking for:
- High attention to detail and accuracy and strong analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Self-starters
- Strong analytical, project management and communication skills
- Position(s) of influence in campus organization or other
- Major in business or the humanities
