Responsibilities
As a key member of the Yara Growth Ventures team you will provide the needed insight to drive intelligent, sound decision-making. You understand the venture capital industry and bring strong quantitative skills, strategic thinking and sound business judgment, along with the ability to think about what is — and what could be.
- Develop investment strategies, target identification, source deals and build pipeline, develop investment thesis, present investments to investment committee (IC), and manage portfolio of investments
- Lead negotiations with target companies and potential co-investors, include negotiation of terms sheet; Prepare all necessary documents for the Investment Committee for an investment decision
- Provide hands-on leadership for all aspects of investment activity—from origination to exit
- Support, engage, and mentor portfolio companies’ founders to maximize each venture success. Represent Yara in the venture capital and entrepreneurial community
- Proactively network to identify new opportunities as well as build network of trusted, top tier co-investors.
- Sit on Boards at portfolio companies and provide them with guidance to help them succeed in the market, as appropriate
- Conduct internal business development to deliver collaborations and partnerships between Yara and portfolio companies
- Establish and maintain strong professional networks inside and outside Yara
Profile
- Master, MBA or advanced technical degree preferred
- Must have recent agritech related venture capital experience
- 5 – 10 years of work experience in venture capital, preferably in agtech or related industries
- 15+ years of total work experience
- Having founded a startup, a huge bonus
- Proven experience creating and maintaining entrepreneurial relationships in venture capital ecosystem
- Strong knowledge of Agritech markets, experience with startup companies, venture capitalists, commercial partnerships, and incubators required in US and preferably in Latin Americas
- Successful track record of sourcing sound investments with strategic and financial return desired
