Skip Capital is looking to add a full-time investment professional to our Sydney based team. As this is one of many roles we will be hiring for, we are open to applicants from associate level to partner level.

Across our portfolio, we invest in startups, growth companies, listed equities, private
assets, infrastructure and funds. You will focus on startups but will also assist
across all of these fields.
You will join a small but growing team of bright, passionate professionals.
Must have:
– experience in venture, angel, or other technology investing (2-6+ years)
– real passion for continual learning and ability to question external/internal
views
– ability to acquire large amounts of information rapidly, distil it into insights for
others and take a view
– ability to discern information and facts from hype or generalities
– balance of long term thinking with a ‘get s@#t done’ attitude
– founder empathy and drive to support our founders achieve their mission
– enthusiasm to meet and form relationships with lots of startups, subject
experts and other investors
– ability to work self-directed in a small team
– experience in executing transactions and working with legal documents
– proficiency in financial modelling and return analysis
Nice to have (any of the below):
– experience investing in health tech (extra points for data science, genetics,
precision medicine or medical statistics)
– experience in listed equities
– experience working within a startup
What the job entails:
– scouting, filtering, meeting and assessing inbound and outbound investment
opportunities across startups (and other asset classes)
– seeking out best in class investors, founders, and subject domain experts to
inform investment decisions
– assessing founders’ true ability to execute on their mission
– building investment theses and analysing markets to identify opportunities
– investment execution, including coordinating legal advisers
– performing due diligence, developing financial models, and preparing
investment recommendations
– developing relationships with other private investors, venture and other funds
– supporting portfolio companies to achieve their potential
