High Alpha Innovation partners with corporations to help them produce tangible innovation through startup creation. We are seeking a Partner to join our High Alpha Innovation team to help lead collaborations with corporate partners. The role will be 80% business development, working to close deals with our pipeline of corporate partners, and 20% delivery and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have been a leader at a top strategy consultancy (i.e., Partner/Principal at Bain, BCG, McK) with startup experience. We are seeking an individual who exhibits a high-level of professionalism, a passion for corporate innovation and entrepreneurship, and a business style that is scrappy, strategic, creative, team-oriented, hands-on, and collaborative.
The role is high-responsibility and high-impact, requiring the Partner to be the primary thought leader and problem-solver on teams. The Partner will be responsible for building and maintaining long-term relationships with corporate partners to secure, retain, and grow new opportunities. The Partner will lead teams in the development of new venture studios and startups using High Alpha’s business design process–managing a team composed of project managers, designers and business analysts–and will play a key role in shaping and leading the future of High Alpha Innovation.
What You’ll Do:
Develop and nurture relationships with corporate partners while gaining alignment on their complex business needs
Lead problem structuring, analysis, and synthesis with corporate partners
Lead the development of hypotheses that will inform studio design
Develop and execute a detailed work plan for studio and startup development
Oversee the qualitative and quantitative research efforts of a team
Develop end-to-end documents with logical storyline and flow
Interact closely with corporate partners’ most senior leadership teams
Prepare and own development of proposals
Lead internal and external meetings including pitching to leadership teams
Work as a member of High Alpha Innovation’s leadership team to own and drive business development efforts
Actively manage the individual professional development of junior employees
What You’ll Need:
BS/BA required, MBA and/or advanced degree strongly preferred
Minimum 7 years consulting experience in a top-tier strategy consulting firm, with experience closing large client engagements
Experience in entrepreneurial settings, especially in SaaS, is a plus–but not a requirement
Strong design sensibility
Deep passion for corporate innovation
Proven thought leader with intellectual curiosity and superior ability to use reason, logic, and creativity to solve ambiguous problems
Demonstrated ability to manage through change
Skillful communicator who is comfortable, effective, and influential in meetings with senior management teams
Self-starter who can thrive in an unstructured and collaborative team environment
Ability to travel regularly (25-50%)
