Over the years we’ve expanded our team to meet our mission of catalyzing startup growth in Hawaii and startup hubs across the country. Sultan Ventures has successfully raised over 20 million dollars in the Hawaii startup community since inception. Our team manages two Hawaii-based funds, both affiliated with the University of Hawaii: The Upside Fund, which invests in UH Intellectual property startups, and XLR8UH, an award-winning Venture Accelerator focused on empowering the University of Hawaii’s entrepreneurs including students, faculty, alumni, and those interested in helping commercialize UH technologies.
INTERNSHIPS
Venture Capital Internship – Spring 19′
Intern positions are available immediately and typically last 5 months. We are accepting applications for Spring 2019 interns who can devote 10 – 30 hours per week. We are flexible with schedules but interns may not work remotely. Our primary goal for our interns is education. Our aim is to encourage entrepreneurship in Hawaii and buffer the ecosystem that supports it. We hope our interns gain practical skills and real-world knowledge they can apply in the industries they’re interested in.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Venture Capital Interns will work on a variety of problem solving tasks. Interns will work on projects related to Sultan Ventures, as well as projects for portfolio companies. Interns will gain a working knowledge of venture capital, startup development, and general business problem solving skills. Venture Capital Interns will work on:
- Industry Research
- Applicant Due Diligence
- Digital Marketing Plans & Metrics
- Financial Analysis
- Pitching Critiques.
The Venture Capital internship program is designed to foster entrepreneurial interests in the intern. Interns will learn techniques and approaches to professional problem solving that have a wide range of applications.
