Job ID: R14210 Summer 2020 Student Internship – Community, Social & Environmental Investments (Venture Capital) (Open) Summary: Engages in activities associated with identifying, establishing and maintaining early stage venture capital investments consistent with company goals and objectives. Monitors the technology innovation and incubation realm, and evaluates opportunities to support entrepreneurs who demonstrate solid ideas that further the company`s interests.
This position contributes to the efforts of the Venture Capital team in achieving stated venture capital investment and Venture Capital goals. Completes projects or tasks related to the investment and Venture Capital process, including industry, sector, competitor and company research. Gathers relevant industry information from multiple sources, identifies new sources of information, conducts financial analysis, and provides financial modeling.
These interns will have the opportunity to work with several directors who specialize in investments in start-ups in the areas of Environmental, Justice and Criminal Justice reform, Mental/Behavioral health and Education. Master’s level student preferred. Preferred majors are Business, Finance, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Law, Public Policy, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Environmental Studies.
As a Social Impact Investments intern, you will assist in establishing and maintaining strategies to meet organizational objectives. Under the direction of a senior level employee or manager you will work on projects that support the business area goals and results. You will also complete tasks using both interpersonal and technical skills appropriate to the specific job assignment, while adapting to new or changing situations in a team environment.

Education/Licenses/Designations
- Must be in pursuit of a post-secondary degree or certificate during the semester of the internship.
- Pursuing post-secondary education in a related major to the internship.

- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
- Basic analytical skills.
- Basic knowledge and experience working within a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of developing and managing project work.
