The Venture University Investment Fund (LinkedIn, Crunchbase) is part of Venture University, an innovative trade school for Venture Capital, Private Equity, and Entrepreneurship, which includes an academic and apprenticeship program where individuals join the team of a VC/PE fund as investment analysts, invest $50K-$300K+ in 1-5 companies, and participate in the financial upside of the fund
Hiring Date:
Position starts June 1st 2018 and goes until Aug 31st 2018, with the potential to turn into a full-time role at the investment fund
Responsibilities of the Venture Capital – Managing Director:
- Lead, manage, and work with 10-30 investment analysts on deal sourcing, due diligence, investment evaluation, and investment committee review
- Make 1-5 investments, investing $50K-$300K+ in each company, every 3-5 months
- Potential to manage larger fund with LP capital, investing more than $300K in each company – Deal source from top VC/PE funds, accelerators, and startup founders
- Review, edit, and negotiate investment documents for seed through growth stage investment rounds
- Work with legal council on investment documents and closing investments – Attend VC / Startup networking events
- Collaborate on the development of the program, curriculum, and advise the strategic direction of the university and investment fund
- Recruit individuals for the program and investment fund
Requirements:
- Must be located in or move to the San Francisco area
- 3-5+ yrs doing Venture Capital and/or Private Equity
- A strong network within the venture, private equity, and startup ecosystem
- Have a passion for innovation
- A personal brand that helps create an “Ivy League” caliber brand for the program
Pluses:

- Co-invested with a large number of top VC/PE funds and accelerators
- A track record of successful angel, VC, PE investments

- Experiecnce raising LP capital
Compensation:
This position is full-time (5 days per week) from June-Aug 2018, with potential to turn into a full-time position during the year, and includes a competitive cash compensation and carried interest / profit sharing in the VC/PE investment fund.
