VC Director @ Guardian Life Insurance Company in New York, NY

GIS Strategic Ventures (GSV) is seeking a Director-level individual to work as part of a small dedicated Healthcare, Fintech and Infotech professional group.  This position will directly support Guardian’s growth equity and venture capital deal team on a full-time basis.  A minimum of three years of Management Consulting, Investment Banking and/or Private Equity/Venture Capital is a requirement.  Specific healthcare deal and/or engagement transaction experience, domain knowledge of biotech, pharma, royalties, and medical devices verticals are also required for the successful candidate.  Solid presentation skills including PowerPoint, Excel financial modeling, and an understanding on how to conduct deal due diligence and portfolio tracking are also key.

Candidate Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include assisting the Corporate Development and Strategy team generally and the GSV team specifically in all facets of a transaction, including investment due diligence, preparation of strategy and deal-related materials for the working group and Guardian’s executive team, on-going monitoring of selected investments and prospect pipeline, as well as responsibility for generating market specific data and maintaining knowledge of the specific investment area. 

In addition, the incumbent will work with the team and in close collaboration with appropriate members of Guardian business units to create and maintain a dynamic feedback loop between key internal stakeholders to foster innovation and to ensure Guardian captures the value of the strategic knowledge generated by virtue of this investment activity.
