VC Associate @ RPS Ventures in Palo Alto, CA

RPS Ventures is looking to add a highly motivated and intellectually curious Associate to our investment team in Palo Alto.  RPS is a mid-stage venture capital firm focused on supporting generational technology companies led by extraordinary entrepreneurs across a wide variety of industries and sectors.  This is a 2 year role in which an associate at RPS is expected to:

  • Support the firm’s sourcing efforts by conducting market research to identify emerging trends and potential investments
  • Attend pitch meetings and work with partners to conduct due diligence on potential investments, including but not limited to market analysis, competitive mapping, financial modeling, valuation analysis, and references
  • Prepare internal presentations and memorandums
  • Manage our deal pipeline, track portfolio performance, and work with our finance manager produce L.P. reports and updates
  • Develop and voice an opinion on new and existing deals during investment team discussions

Profile Desired: 

  • Have 2-4 years of full-time work experience at a top-tier bank, management consulting firm, or venture firm (strong financial modeling skills is a must)
  • A passion for technology, startups, and understanding new markets
  • Be independent, self-motivated, highly productive, thoughtful, and resourceful
  • Have strong diligence skills (e.g. able to quickly decipher the key questions, risks, and upside of an opportunity)
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a POV on emerging technologies, business models, and companies
  • Be able to thrive in a dynamic and relatively unstructured working environment
  • Have a great sense of humor and a positive attitude
