The Ventures Associate (LinkedIn, Crunchbase) is in charge of sourcing the best startups in the world that present both a potential for scaling and significant impact. The main focus areas of the accelerator are:
- Raw material sourcing
- Fabric and garment production (dyeing, finishing & cut-make-trim)
- End-of-use (recycling/upcycling)
The Ventures Associate will source, screen, and engage the startups to participate in the Plug and Play Fashion for Good accelerator program and will be in charge of leading investments (5 to 10 each year) in those startups.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Call-for-applications: including planning and execution of online program applications, startup selection days and supporting the applications review process
- Investment management: including deal-sourcing, due diligence, preparation of investment documentations and legal support
- Startup management: including investment closing, program on-boarding, mentoring on taking product to market, raising money, scaling, and all other ad hoc business needs. Work with corporation to identify opportunities for business development
- Ecosystem outreach: including building relationships with universities, media, incubators and accelerators, investors, corporate, university and other strategic partners
- Conduct research to identify new markets and industry sectors, conducting in-depth business analysis to identifying new competitive opportunities
- Support of community management: including planning and execution of events and activities for all stakeholders affiliated to the accelerator
- Administrative and financial support
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree, preferably with an economic, financial or scientific background
- 3 to 6 years relevant experience in venture capital or impact investing
- Passion for social innovation, social/environmental impact initiatives, entrepreneurship, and sustainability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Salary and conditions
- 12 months duration with possibility to convert to a permanent contract
- Competitive salary. Depending on experience
