Lam Capital is the venture arm of Lam Research and is located in Fremont, CA. We are seeking an Associate to work directly with the Principal of Life Sciences Investments and the President of the fund.
Representative Responsibilities
- Assisting in the venture capital investment process. Specifically, the individual will work with the Principal to:
- Research key markets/market segments
- Identify, evaluate and monitor investment prospects (scientific/technical and business evaluation)
- Review business plans
- Perform due diligence on prospect companies – Including building financial models and evaluating technical/scientific relevance of platform
- Prepare consistent read-outs and updates for Board and Investment committee
- Helping with business strategy, exit events and general support of its portfolio companies.
- Role is specifically focused on investments in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher biological sciences or biochemistry from top tier university – to facilitate a deep technical expertise – PhD preferred but not required
- Operating and technical experience in life sciences sectors and specific experience in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology
- Ability to understand/simplify technical/scientific information and distil it down into relevant facts
- Prior experience as an Analyst or Associate in related field VC/PE, investment bank and or Consulting is not required but a plus
- Demonstrated analytical ability and attention to detail
- Interest in growth equity and impact investing
- Passion for identifying promising high‐growth businesses
- Self‐starter, able to initiate projects and work independently
- Excellent personal rapport and ability to engender trust and respect
