To support management in due diligence and active portfolio management, including assisting and supporting portfolio companies with operational initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• To be responsible for sourcing, executing, and working on due diligence of venture capital transactions to build a portfolio
• To identify any new investment opportunities based on market and competitor analysis, including :
⁃ Sourcing both directly and through a network of contacts at universities, VCs, incubators, accelerators, etc.
⁃ Meeting founders and entrepreneurs, for early stage investments
• To support deal origination efforts, including
⁃ Performing market research related to investment trends,
⁃ Examining global market environments and
⁃ Analysing, benchmarking and comparative statistics
• To hold discussions with the clients for
⁃ Understanding the business in detail
⁃ Preparing financial model and other deal documents of the company
⁃ Performing due diligence on potential investments to validate the business opportunity for financial returns
⁃ Analyzing financial ratios to understand the financial health of the company
⁃ Evaluating long and short-term fund requirements of companies
• To work with and support portfolio companies, including
⁃ Activating any operational initiatives, research projects, competitor analysis, valuation work and board meeting support
⁃ Analysing financial and operating performance, value-adding in portfolio companies, and preparing periodic report
• To support senior management in a variety of analytic and investment management activities, including
⁃ Running due diligence for potential investments
⁃ Assisting in the preparation of investment committee (IC) memos and presentations
⁃ Conducting valuation updates and monitor performance across the existing portfolio
⁃ Developing and delivering periodic reports for portfolio review of the fund
⁃ Coordinating and producing regular reports for IC review, including quarterly updates and other reports
⁃ Preparing groundwork for implementing exit strategies
⁃ Identifying potential clients for exitss and building a steady pipeline of new prospects with proactive strategies
Desired Skills & Experience: Candidate should have :
Experience: At least 3- 5 years of experience as Venture Capital Analyst (buy side), supporting a VC fund of INR 100-500 crores
Functional Expertise :
· Keen Interest in next generation consumer experience and retail technology
· Proficient in using in any of following or similar tools – Pitchbook, Capital IQ, Thomson Reuters, InsideView, Unomy, ProductHunt
· Demonstrated ability to execute detailed financial analysis
· Able to understand and interpret complex business activities
· Advanced MS PowerPoint skills with emphasis on presentation preparation
· Ability to effectively summarise information into clear, concise, and insightful updates, along with strong writing skills
· Skilled performer with strong research, problem solving, and time management skills along with the ability to multi task
Educational Qualifications:
· BE/equivalent in Computer/ IT studies + MBA
· Candidates passed out from IIIT / NIT / IIT / IIM or other premier institutes will be preferred
