Allianz X is the digital investment unit of the Allianz Group. We are investing in digital growth companies that are part of the ecosystems related to insurance. Our goal is to identify and invest in the best digital frontrunners that are strategically relevant for the Allianz Group. We provide an interface between portfolio companies and the digital ecosystem within Allianz as well as drive innovation across Allianz’s operating entities and global lines of business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Allianz X has two key functions: the Investment Team, taking care of investments into promising companies as well as funds, and the Strategy and New Business Team, facilitating partnerships between our portfolio companies and the Allianz Group.
As Associate, you will support both teams, i.e. being involved in investment-related as well as post-investment activities. In particular, your responsibilities include:
- Pre-select business plans and conduct due diligences
- Supporting transaction events and monitoring of portfolio companies
- Performing strategic analyses, industry and market research
- Prepare management presentations and regular reports
- Interact with project teams from various business areas within Allianz
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Entrepreneurial mind-set to identify business potential
- Passion for investments, innovative business models and digitalization
- Thorough understanding of financial statements
- Excellent proven academic record
- High commitment and self-starter mentality
- Bachelor in Business Administration / Economics or other relevant fields (e.g. computer science or physics), Master preferred
- Fluent in English and German, additional language skills are a plus
- Microsoft Office skills (especially PowerPoint and Excel)
Experience & Key skills
- Experience in project work, investments, the start-up world or consulting is a plus
- Insurance knowledge is a plus
- Ability to quickly grasp, analyze and evaluate complex topics
- Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate in a clear, well-structured manner
- Strong social skills and cultural awareness
- High degree of accuracy and sensitivity in working on key strategic issues for the Allianz Group
- International experience (e.g. stay abroad) is a plus
