AECOM Ventures is a high-energy team of broad and varied backgrounds and experiences, tasked with leveraging and scaling innovation and technology-enabled solutions across AECOM. Our job is to leverage the fresh thinking of AECOM’s professionals by identifying those ideas with the greatest commercial potential and shaping them for success in the marketplace. The Ventures Market Strategy Associate will serve a critical role in evaluating potential projects for consideration and engagement by the AECOM Ventures team. The analyst will be responsible for building market analyses, financial models, pro formas, and investment cases – playing a key role in advocating for or against project investments based on market analysis and technology-specific research and diligence.
Duties
+ Deconstruct complex business problems into key drivers of success
+ Identify and analyze relevant data sets to assess market opportunities and inform investment recommendations
+ Build financial models, pro formas, and investment cases for target investment prospects, including but not limited to, financial sensitivity analyses, market sizing and growth analyses, and key performance indicator (KPI) analyses
+ Evaluate potential investments, partnerships, and other investment activities as they relate to organization objectives
+ Partner with subject-matter experts to evaluate new business opportunities and provide coordination and support for existing project teams, including project management assistance
+ Assist with product or service pricing strategy, product or service development objectives, and development requirements for new and emerging products and services
+ Solve problems as they arise with creative and professional thinking
+ Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion
Minimum Requirements
+ BA or BS, ideally in Economics, Business, or Engineering
+ One or more years of professional experience, including preferred experience in professional services (investment banking, consulting) or operating role (startup, operating, private equity, venture capital).
+ Strong work ethic
+ Financial analysis experience, with the ability to model growth options for businesses in a variety of industries
+ Exceptional presentation skills, both in presenting verbally and in the creation of workbooks and presentations
+ Open to mentorship and eager to learn
+ Resourceful self-starter, with the necessary initiative to independently own work streams from start to finish
+ Exhibits intellectual curiosity; voracious appetite to learn new things; excellent professional judgment and discretion in matters of significance
+ Willing to travel as needed
