About The Role
618 Ventures is seeking a post-MBA Associate to join us. Reporting into a Managing Partner, the Associate will have broad exposure supporting the entire managing partnership and will be involved in 3 key areas:
- New Investments – Associates will help our Partners evaluate, diligence, invest and support the next group of category-defining healthcare companies. Over time, Associates will also help to identify and source new investment opportunities
- Portfolio Management – Associates will work with our Partners and portfolio company management teams on key initiatives that help them create value. Associates will also help manage portfolio company reporting and oversight
- Firm Operations – Associates will support other areas as needed, including tracking healthcare and VC sector trends, attending key industry events, supporting meetings of our LPs/Investors, and special projects
Desired Qualifications
(1) Education from top schools, with an excellent record of academic achievement
- MBA in relevant specialty (finance, entrepreneurship, general management), and
- Bachelor’s in quantitative field (mathematics, data science, engineering, economics, finance), and
- Degree in Life Sciences field (molecular biology, biochemistry, etc.)
(2) Early-career investing experience + healthcare industry knowledge, with an exceptional record of high achievement
- 2-3 years of investing / financial experience (VC, growth equity, investment banking, corporate M&A, strategy consulting)
- Exceptional quantitative modeling skills in Excel. Experience with cash flow modeling, investment valuation techniques
- Relevant healthcare knowledge (industry value drivers, competitive landscape, R&D pipeline / technology, etc.)
- Outstanding ability to distill complex ideas into effective communications – both verbally and visually (PowerPoint)
