Reporting to the Senior Director, the New Ventures Analyst will be responsible for startup activities generated from technologies developed at The Ohio State University. Plays an integral role in expanding the impact of the New Ventures team by assisting in all activities, including performing market research and opportunity due diligence; maintaining the team’s database of entrepreneurs, investors and events; process management, project management and portfolio management. Working with the New Ventures team, responsible for workflow and process management for the team. Major focus is pipeline companies, entrepreneur relationships, and fund compliance. Additionally, assists in key relationship management with State of Ohio entities, partner organizations such as Rev1, and others in the Columbus ecosystem. Provides assistance with board meetings as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, or related field; experience with project management and performing thorough market research; experience in analysis and financial modeling, or equivalent experience in industry research, private equity, venture capital or commercialization; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to multi-task and to individually accomplish large amounts of work; will be expected to drive multiple initiatives at one time in a fast moving environment where the expectations to always deliver results will be high.
Desired QualificationsGraduate degree such as MBA, Masters/PhD in science-related field.
