SVB Capital is the venture capital investing arm of Silicon Valley Bank. The team manages $4.5 billion through nine funds of funds and four direct venture funds.
SVB Lift is a new program designed to serve as a conduit for Limited Partner-General Partner relationships. SVB lends to and tracks over 1,300 venture capital and private equity funds, giving us unique visibility into the fundraising landscape. This allows us to serve as an extension of our Limited Partners’ teams by providing them with high-quality deal flow through curated introductions to compelling fund managers as well as insights. SVB Lift aims to help the Limited Partner community access managers they may not be aware of or have access to, while increasing the probability of a successful fundraise for our fund banking clients. In addition to introductions to Limited Partners, SVB Lift provides our fund banking clients with: custom benchmarking reports, consultative feedback on marketing materials and their fundraising strategy, invitations to industry events and connections to the rest of our network (E.g. subject matter experts, service providers).
Capital is seeking a team member with a demonstrated passion for early-stage investing and developing relationships. The Analyst/Associate will sit at the intersection of Venture Capital Firms and the Limited Partners who back them. This role will offer the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the strategies and motivations of investors, as well as sharpen existing relationship development skills. The candidate would support a team of senior relationship management executives to both assess investment opportunities and gauge investor interest. As an Analyst/Associate, you will have opportunity to be a part of the entire landscape of venture capital fundraising and meaningfully strengthen and expand relationships with Venture Capital Firms, Limited Partners and SVB teams.
Responsibilities:
Venture Capital Firms:
- Manage pipeline of SVB Lift clients – from initial engagement, to onboarding and servicing
- Coordinate introductions between Limited Partners and Venture Capital Firms
- Provide fund managers with feedback on pitches, pitch decks, fundraising strategy
Limited Partners:
- Continuously source Limited Partners that want introductions to fund managers
- Regularly engage with Limited Partners in order to understand their investment preferences and activities
- Make successful introductions that lead to fund commitments
SVB:
- Enhance SVB’s brand in the market as a trusted partner to Limited Partners as they try to access the best venture capital managers
- Work across various SVB teams to identify prospects and services to provide clients with
- Ensure stakeholders receive consistent, timely, and accurate updates on clients in the SVB Lift pipeline
Operational:
- Track outcomes of Limited Partner introductions
- Develop processes to support SVB Lift program and subsequently train internal constituents, including senior relationship managers
- Maintain updated CRM system used to track Limited Partners and fund managers
- Support investment team in analyzing and monitoring new venture capital fund investment opportunities
Other:
- Evangelize success stories internally and externally
- Engage Limited Partners and fund managers through events and content aimed at community-building, connecting GPs and Limited Partners with each other and strengthening SVB’s position as a leader in venture capital
- Develop products and services that SVB Capital and relationship managers administer to SVB Lift clients
- Create marketing material and other insight thought pieces
- Coordinate internal resources in order to serve clients
- Advance the strategic business goals of the company

Qualifications
Ideal experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in account management or marketing alternative investment products to institutional investors and/or managing relationships with fund managers
- Experience working across multiple teams, serving external as well as internal customers
- Bachelor’s degree with preference for economics, finance, business administration, or accounting
