Analysts are junior support members of the investment team, assisting other senior members with desk-based research and analysis, and liasion with related parties.
primary objectives
- Assist in growing and managing a portfolio of venture investment
- Develop and maintain insights and knowledge of verticals and consumer trend
Specific responisbilities
- Origination support (deal sourcing and screening):
- Create deal flow, identifying potential startups by using internal databases, web research and proprietary network
- Conduct pre-screening of startup leads
- Make first contact with startups through phone calls
- Execution support (due diligence and investment analysis):
- Support in drafting related investment memos
- Support Associates and Investment Managers in due diligence, legal review, business plan review to evaluate investment opportunities
- Conduct comprehensive market research, industry analysis, competitive landscape analysis, financial modeling, return analysis
- Deal closing:
- Support in term sheet drafting
- Support in documentation of investment agreement
- Portfolio management support
- Monitor on-going performance metrics and milestones of existing portfolio companies
- When applicable, support senior members of the firm and portfolio management in formulating business strategy, marketing strategy, recruiting, business development, partnership, value-enhancing initiatives, fundraising, exiting etc.
- Fund oprations:
- Manage and update internal databases
- Monitor prospects and deal pipeline on an on-going basis,
- Support senior members of the firm in fund administration and marketing
Required education & Experience
- At least 2 years of work experience ideally in a related field (e.g. venture capital, private equity, entrepreneurship, investment banking, management consulting etc.)
- Relevant and strong academic record from a top tier educational institution, advanced degrees are a plus
Required knowledge, skills & Abilities
- Strong financial and analytical skills and proficiency in spreadsheet modeling
- Excellent work ethic and professional demeanor
- Strong information gathering and market research skills
- Commercial acument and strategic thinking
- Highly resourceful, organized and detail-oriented
- Self-starter, pro-active ability to initiate projects and work independently
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships, influence and collaborate
- Strong interest in working with abitious entrepreneurs and an ability to foster creativity, communication and synergies between partners and companies
- Full professional proficiency in English
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
- Technical knowledge in specific sectors is a plus
