Job Description:
The Analyst position provides analytical support for origination, underwriting, monitoring, and reporting related to managing the Alternative Investments portfolio. Our ideal candidate can work independently or collaboratively within a small team-based environment. We are looking for a resourceful individual that takes initiative to complete complex projects and analysis. The Analyst will report directly to our Director of Alternative Investments and Executive Director to do the following:
Essential Functions:
- Provides research, modeling, and analytical assistance to support the origination, underwriting, monitoring, reporting, and management of Private Equity, Venture Capital, Real Estate, and other Alternative Investments in fund vehicles, co-investments, and direct investments
- Responsible for monitoring and logging reporting and other communications from fund managers, custodians, and other client-related vendors and service providers
- Participates in meetings with current and prospective investment managers and direct investment opportunities and provides feedback to the Investment Team
- Monitors and tracks the financial and operating performance of the portfolio
- Participates in internal Investment Committee staff meetings and external meetings with industry professionals
- Independently conducts research, company modeling, and analytical functions to provide quantitative and qualitative analysis of the current investment portfolio and new investment opportunities
- Develops in-depth knowledge and research of niche investment opportunities
- Manages special projects that require strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Assists in daily investment management administration
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting/finance/business administration/economics/real estate or similar preferred; desire to obtain CFA and/or CAIA designation; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in excel modeling and quantitative aptitude, as evidenced by academic achievement and/or work experience
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- General understanding of macroeconomics, financial markets, concepts, and principles and desire to invest across the spectrum of private markets
- Desire to work, live and play in the Vail Valley
