Senior VC Manager @ COX Auto in Atlanta, GA

The New Ventures role will support business planning, partner engagement and investment efforts around new areas of A.C.E.S. growth for the Mobility Solutions portfolio to increase the value of its businesses and brands.
Specifically, this position will: 1) develop & cultivate key partnerships and strategic relationships, 2) support the investment pipeline in strategic focus areas, 3) lead existing business partnerships in collaboration with internal stakeholders, 4) function as a conduit to M&A as necessary.
Responsibilities include definition and maintenance of our future state vision against an internal/external fact base within each focus area to measure impacts to the portfolio and define new business initiatives and revenue opportunities.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand key players in the A.C.E.S. mobility space, including their priorities and vision. Build and cultivate relationships with key contacts where synergies exist with the goals of the Research & Development team.
  • Develop partnerships with strategic, entrepreneurial, academic and enterprise level organizations that will build knowledge, influence strategy and create new business opportunities in adjacencies to our core businesses.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with entrepreneurs, investors and corporate innovation arms to build our external networks.
  • Keep internal business leaders and partners abreast of key relationships. As external relationships reach high-impact or criticality, transition regular contact to internal business leaders and/or partners.
  • Stay well informed of industry trends through research and networking. Partner internally to share industry insights and key information.
  • Partner with Marketing & PR teams to drive visibility and knowledge of Mobility in the industry.
  • Lead and execute activities related to existing business partnerships, including scouting trips.
  • Develop and manage ongoing stakeholder map of both internal and external partnerships. Ensure continuous visibility and understanding of the pipeline via a regular cadence of documented and verbal reporting.
  • Participate as a key member of the Research & Development team and with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Work as an integrated, highly collaborative member of Mobility


REQUIRED 
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 7+ years of professional experience, predominantly in a financial, strategic planning or business development capacity. Successful track record in corporate innovation or start-up business and mobility related ventures, including leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of strategic planning and adjacent growth, innovation methods and business model design, market research, pricing, contract negotiations and analysis techniques and tools.
  • Skills: Excellent forecasting skills. Strong analytical and research skills. Concise and clear verbal and written communication skills. Strong business development skills.
Abilities:
  • Demonstrable ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis necessary to define market
    opportunities and evaluate emerging technology and business models.
  • Experience developing and structuring enterprise level partnership.
  • Experience in the evaluation and execution of business development deals and a general understanding of equity investing.
  • Established network with venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and corporate innovation arms preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for new, disruptive technologies and business models.
  • Intellectual curiosity and relentless commitment to excellence.
  • Positive attitude, self-starter and natural collaborator.
  • Travel 75%.


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • MBA or relevant certifications preferred.
