Director of Corporate Development @ Bridgestone Americas in Nashville, TN

Positions in this sub-family are responsible for identifying internal and external strategic issues and opportunities that could affect growth and profitability of the organization. Activities include: •Identifying growth opportunities, business model innovation, and facilitating cross-business unit initiatives •Evaluating and financial modeling of potential merger, acquisition, divestment, partnership, and joint venture opportunities •Monitoring medium to long-term business trends/outlooks, gathering competitive intelligence to contribute to strategic business planning discussions with leadership •Identifying and developing optimal revenue models, sales/distribution channels, pricing, and new product development strategies •Identifying and negotiating strategic partnerships including financial arrangements, customer sharing, and intellectual property rights •Prioritizing and tracking investments across new product development initiatives

RESPONSIBILITIES

Long-Term Business Strategy & Planning work is focused on facilitating and developing the organization’s medium and long-term goals including:
Identifying growth opportunities, business model innovation, and facilitating cross-business unit initiatives
Evaluating and financial modeling of potential merger, acquisition, divestment, partnership and joint venture opportunities
Monitoring medium to long-term business trends/outlooks, gathering competitive intelligence to contribute to strategic business planning discussions with leadership
Analyzing and managing medium and long-term capital expenditure and project approval decisions
In some organizations may review corporate governance, balanced score card performance, and participate in the annual business planning cycle A Manager (M3) manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments. Responsibilities typically include:
Policy and strategy implementation for short-term results (1 year or less).
Problems faced are difficult to moderately complex.
Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree ; 10+ years of relevant experience including 7+ years management or leadership experience
Or Master’s degree; 8+ years of relevant experience including 5-7 years management or leadership experience
