Corporate Development Analyst @ Ford in Dearborn, MI

We are seeking exceptional people to join our Ford Corporate Development team. Join a highly collaborative team responsible for identifying, evaluating and executing mergers and acquisitions, investments, joint ventures and divestitures for Ford. Corporate Development is a high profile, strategic part of Ford, and this is a vital role within the company. You will be expected to lead all valuation analysis and drive due diligence for potential transactions. In addition you will play an active role in idea generation, deal structuring, negotiation and legal documentation. In this role you will have extensive interaction with Ford senior management as well as target companies. Candidates should be top performers who are willing to work hard in an unstructured environment where initiative, creativity, maturity, and enthusiasm for learning are highly valued. Investment bankers in the 2nd year of an analyst program will be considered. Relocation is available.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing detailed financial models and valuation analysis for potential transactions
  • Coordinating and implementing due diligence for potential transactions
  • Creating investment memorandums and related presentations for review by the Ford senior management team, including C-Level executives as well as Ford’s Board of Directors
  • Performing research to identify opportunities for growth within Ford’s existing businesses or expansion into new areas
  • Actively supporting the negotiation of transaction terms and legal documentation
  • Interfacing with finance, legal, tax and other departments of Ford to ensure seamless deal execution

Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of work experience in private equity, venture capital, corporate M&A, investment banking, or transaction services
  • 2+ years hands on experience in modeling, analysis, and research in heavily-transactional situations

  • Aptitude in critical thinking / analysis
  • Very comfortable with ambiguity and working in “white space”
  • Successful in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic team based environment

  • Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter capable of working independently
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
