Associates will be part of a lean investment team and work on a variety of crossfunctional firm matters. These activities generally take the form of portfolio data collection & reporting, directed sourcing and evaluation of new investment opportunities, directed research into sectors of interest, and preparation of materials to report to limited partners. The ideal candidate is mature, energetic, and has strong quantitative and analytical abilities. This role offers candidates the opportunity to bolster their buy-side investing experience and provides direct exposure to fund Founders and Partners as well as C-level leaders of the fund’s portfolio companies.
Candidate Requirements: The position requires independent thinking, internal drive, analytical horsepower, strong communication, and excellent time management skills. A genuine interest in Venture Capital & Private Equity and an understanding of corporate valuation & financial modeling is critical for success in the role. A general breakdown of responsibilities are as follows:
- Work on internal firm matters including portfolio company performance reporting, portfolio company valuation analysis, investor relations, and firm marketing
- Directed effort related to new deal sourcing including research on key sectors of interest, identifying investible trends and related companies, opportunity pipeline tracking, and participation in intro calls
- Assist on diligence process related to potential new investments including data room review, competitor research, valuation analysis, financial modeling, and customer calls
- Support portfolio companies on select projects such as financial reports & benchmarking, business development & partnerships, capital raising, and M&A evaluation
The ideal candidate has at least 2-3 years of work experience in investment banking, management consulting, investing, or within a relevant, high-growth business. This is a two-year Associate position with the potential for longer-term career advancement based upon individual performance and firm needs. Target start date is summer 2021.
