Job Description

The Venture Capital, Investment Associate will work closely with the Global Managing Director and regional Investment Directors for Experian Ventures, providing day-to-day support for the Minority Equity investment program. In this role, you will also work in close collaboration with internal and external partners across the regions served by the ventures program. The successful Venture Capital, Investment Associate candidate must be able to operate in a dynamic, fast moving environment and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting shifting deadlines.  

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Perform in-depth analyses (e.g., Market sizing, competitive landscape mapping, channel assessment, segmentation, financial performance) using multiple quantitative and qualitative methods to generate business insights 
  • Collaborate closely with regional stakeholders across Experian (e.g., business, product, sales, technology, finance, etc.), comprehending the strategic objectives supporting potential investments 
  • Develop comprehensive lists of prospective companies that align with the strategic objective and requirements for venture targets 
  • Provide support for each investment proposal including the development and continuous iterations required to meet investment papers as defined by the Investment Committee (IC) to include elements such as market analysis, financial analysis, pro-forma capitalization, returns analysis, waterfall analysis, and additional analysis as needed
  • Portfolio Management – Work with the Global Head of Ventures, regional Investment Directors, and investment sponsors to create quarterly portfolio performance reviews 
  • Organize startup presentation demo days for business unit stakeholders, coordinate & schedule meetings with requisite stakeholders 

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • 2+ years of relevant experience and a college degree from an accredited school
  • Career interest in the Venture Capital industry with demonstrated fundamental knowledge base 
  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and savvy business judgement 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills 
  • Financial modeling and presentation skills 
  • Intimate working knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint
