VC Analyst @ Green Investment Group in New York City, NY

As an Analyst within our Energy Tech Group (San Francisco or New York), you will join a highly successful team that invests in companies through the deployment of the balance sheet. The Energy Tech team within the Macquarie Capital’s Green Investment Group focuses on corporate and project level investments across a wide range of energy transition solutions, including energy storage, flexible generation, distributed energy, and clean transportation as well as adjacent opportunities. The Energy Tech team works hand in hand with the Green Investment Group to source, develop, structure, analyze, negotiate, and complete investments across the capital structure. The team invests directly in early and late-stage venture as well as growth equity companies with investment sizes ranging from $5m to $50m.

With 2-3 years’ in the investment banking industry or investing experience, you will be given considerable responsibility that includes conducting industry and company research, performing due diligence, financial analysis, financial models, presentations, and investment committee memoranda with the view of executing investment and capital raising opportunities. You will also help manage and track the performance and strategic direction of existing portfolio companies.

Bringing venture capital, private equity or other debt/equity investment experience is a plus. You must have strong analytical, modelling, presentation, research, and interpersonal skills. In addition, you must be detail-oriented, able to hit the ground running, and comfortable working in a flexible and entrepreneurial work environment.

This role is in Macquarie Capital, specifically within the Green Investment Group. Macquarie Capital provides advisory and capital raising services to corporate and government clients involved in public mergers and acquisitions, private treaty acquisitions and divestments, debt and equity fundraising and corporate restructuring.
