Senior Director of Corporate Development @ Asurion in San Mateo, CA

Lead the inorganic efforts to grow Asurion. Work with Asurion executive leadership and cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, evaluate, develop, and execute mergers and acquisitions that support Asurion’s long-term growth and value creation. Contribute to Asurion’s corporate strategy and new ventures through a focus on transactions.More specifically:

  • Develop strategic themes and sectors of interest for mergers & acquisitions and pursue targets within
    • Develop and continually update the strategic themes and sectors of interest for the Company
    • Identify public and privately held targets in support of these themes
    • Proactively maintain industry relationships to source transaction opportunities
  • Develop a deep understanding of Asurion’s strategy, financials and competitive landscape in order to connect the dots between Company priorities and outside opportunities
  • Present and advocate for opportunities with sound theses and rationale, rock solid analytics
  • Establish credibility with Asurion’s senior most leadership, able to influence material decisions
    • Contribute to Asurion’s corporate strategy and new venture formation through focus on transactions
  • Manage transactions
    • Lead and conduct target prospecting, dialogue initiation, opportunity evaluations, strategic rationale, comprehensive financial modeling, valuation, structuring, and execution of transactions.
    • Collaborate closely with counterparts in legal, finance, human resources, business sponsors and other functional teams to perform due diligence, negotiations, contracts, and post- transaction integration activities.
  • Exhibit exceptional teamwork, communication, and leadership
    • Lead a team of talented corporate development professionals, develop their skills, champion careers
    • Build relationships and interface effectively with constituents across the Company, including senior executives in product, operations, finance, marketing, client services, human resources

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic track record; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in mergers and acquisitions
  • Experience and proven track record with a premier investment bank, private equity firm, and/or corporate development organization; technology, media, telecom industry experience preferred
  • Experience leading teams performing due diligence, valuation, modeling, negotiating, and closing transactions and post-merger management activities
  • Experience with venture capital backed financings and public company mergers and acquisitions
  • Experience with developing and delivering effective C-level and Board level presentations
