Ace the VC Interview

Wednesday, January 8th in NYC

Limited to 8 Students

This live, 2 hour class will cover everything you need to know about interviewing with VC firms — across all phases of the interview process, including:

  • interview prep
  • early- and mid- round interviewing
  • what to do when you hit the final round

What you’ll learn comes from:

  • hundreds of VC job hunters that have shared their VC interview experiences with me over the last 10 years
  • 100+ VC firms who have given me insight into their hiring processes
  • my own experience having secured multiple VC job offers

Thousands of data points, boiled down just to what works.

Here’s exactly what you’ll learn in the course.

What keeps VCs up at night…and what you can do about it – VC’s don’t invest in “vitamins”. And they don’t hire them, either. Using what I’ve learned from directly from VCs over the last 10 years, I’ll help you position yourself as the ideal painkiller

How to talk about yourself (without sounding like hundreds of other applicants) – Saying “I have a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship” doesn’t cut it. So, I’ll show you a simple exercise that’ll help you clearly articulate why you really are different than all the other folks they’re interviewing.

How to answer the most common VC interview questions – I’ll share the top 3 questions VCs ask, and I’ll walk you through how to construct great responses to each of them.

A bulletproof process for time efficient interview prep, including the “5 Legged Stool Technique” for adding value to firms you’re interviewing with.

LinkedIn tweaks to make AFTER they decide to interview you – Not everyone you’re interviewing with will have a chance to read your resume — but almost all of ’em will look you up on LinkedIn. In this module, I’ll show you how to take your profile from a 5 or 6 to a 9 or 10.

How to pitch VCs startups (so they pay attention) – Whether or not they ask you directly, VCs want to know that you can find (and pitch) quality deal flow. We’ll review my proven process for doing this, and I’ll share with you examples straight from my Inbox that got VCs to take meetings with startups and to write them checks.

Making the last 5 minutes of the interview count – Your answer to “Do you have any questions?” is an incredible opportunity to stand out with a firm. I’ll tell you exactly how to handle it.

How to stay on their radar (without feeling like you’re annoying them) – VC hiring processes tend to drag on, and you need to be ready for that — without seeming pushy or desparate. So I’ll share a 30 day process that you can use to keep firms warm once you’ve interviewed.

How to get over the finish line — How to know when a VC is actually close to hiring you, passing the “airport test,” and more.

You’ll also get these bonuses:

  • Resume Review ($200 value): You’ll give me your resume, and I’ll mark it up with suggestions, tips, and questions to help you make it stand out (and avoid common pitfalls).
  • An Interview Worksheet that will help you prep confidently for the big day.
  • Private Email Access: Ask me or your fellow classmates anything you want about interviewing…or your search in general.
  • Interview FAQ: 15 common VC interview questions, and how to answer them.

No BS, Money Back Guarantee

Take 45 days after the course to follow my advice and put what you learned into action…and to use all the bonuses I mentioned.

If you’re not happy with the results you’re getting after doing that, let me know.

I’ll give you a 110% refund on what you paid for the course.

No questions asked.

Signups Close Friday Jan 3 @ 6 PM Eastern

(Or when the course fills up.)

It’s been several years since I hosted a live, in person course like this.

I hope you can join us for this one.

  1. Looking forward to this. I’ve done investment banking, been at Morgan Stanley, now at Google. I want to put all of it together and be in VC. I’d love to put all of my experiences together into a relevant platform. Tell me what VC looks for, I’ll make sure that I gain that experience

  2. What time is this session? Understand it’s the 17th, but is it in the evening?
