Job Description
Your Challenge
MANN+HUMMEL Corporate Ventures invests in venture-stage companies with strategic complements to MANN+HUMMEL core business in the mobility, life science, and environment segments. We focus on opportunities in cleaner mobility, cleaner air, cleaner water, and cleaner energy.
We are seeking a Corporate Venture Principal to run all aspects of the investment and partnership process, including opportunity sourcing, due diligence, and post-investment management
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
− Build relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, intermediaries, and executives to stay informed of early-stage and growth companies
− Develop and maintain strong relationships with VCs, incubators, and accelerators to create a robust investment pipeline
− Negotiate, structure, execute, and manage investments / partnerships
− Collaborate and communicate successfully with entrepreneurs, management teams, partners, and other stakeholders, including attorneys, advisors, consultants, and MANN+HUMMEL’s Executive Management
− Oversee ongoing relationships with portfolio companies to enhance strategic and financial value for both MANN+HUMMEL and the portfolio companies
− Evaluate and conduct due diligence on specific opportunities to assess attractiveness and structure relationships, including financial modeling of investment targets
Your Profile
REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
− BA/BS degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or Science required
− MS/MBA degree in relevant field a strong plus
− 5+ years’ experience working with emerging technologies, corporate business development, or PE/VC investment
− 2+ years’ demonstrated venture capital investing experience
− Experience with startup companies, venture capitalists, commercial partnerships, and incubators
− Corporate venture capital experience a strong plus
− Openness and good communication skills, along with the ability to work in flexible team structures adapting to project, strategic, and corporate targets
