Roo Partners is looking for an exceptional, intellectually curious individual to join the team as a summer intern.

The candidate must exhibit strong accounting and analytical skills. They must be based in Miami, self-motivated and excited to build a career in the venture capital ecosystem. As a part of a small team, the candidate will have a unique opportunity to work closely with senior professionals and the management teams of portfolio companies.

Location: Miami, FL

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist investment team members in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and monitoring investment
  • Engage with investment team members throughout the end-to-end investment process
  • Actively participate in meetings with leading investments managers
  • Assist in the creation of quarterly reports and communications with the company’s limited partners
  • Market research and screening of target sectors
  • Participate in start-up and technology events across the United States
  • Help identify high-quality investment opportunities for Roo

Essential qualifications:

  • Passion for healthcare, technology, and investing and relevant experience in Venture Capital, Private Equity, or in a start-up
  • Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines
  • Intellectual curiosity as well as exceptional analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills
  • Robust understanding of general investment concepts
  • Professional-level written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail are essential
  • Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Manage correspondence in a timely manner with mature judgment and handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Outstanding customer service skills whether over the phone, via zoom, or in person with our clients and candidates is critical

Ideal education:

  • Working on a BA/BS with demonstrated coursework in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Mathematics
  • Current training on Microsoft Office suite and other relevant automation technology
