As a tech-focused investor we see web3 as the next paradigm shift of the web, and believe that there are immense markets to be unlocked at the consumer and infrastructure layer of web3. As a result, we recently established a dedicated crypto/web3 investment team and are looking for an intern to help us expand our growing portfolio and network in this space.
We are looking for ambitious candidates with a genuine interest in all things crypto and web3. Ideally you will already have some experience interacting with on-chain protocols, perhaps ape’d into some questionable coins or even bought your first NFT. But what matters most is that you have a clear passion for this space and an appreciation of the disruptive potential.
This role is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wishes to dive deeper down the rabbit hole and learn more about crypto VC, interesting new projects & protocols, and how to evaluate these from the perspective of an institutional investor.
Global team: You will be part of our global crypto/web3 team and seek out deals in close collaboration with colleagues worldwide.
Portfoliomanagement: You will provide ongoing support for existing portfolio companies (e.g. assistance with hiring, business development, branding, etc.), participate in meetings with CEOs and founders of our start-up ventures as well as help evaluate new opportunities (deal diligence).
Thorough analyses: Perform detailed protocol or sector research by reviewing a variety of materials (incl. whitepapers, 3rd-party crypto research, Twitter threads, Medium posts, etc.) and synthesise this information for internal memos or presentations.
Ideating ventures: You will screen relevant media (e.g. Twitter, Discord, LinkedIn, etc.) for attractive investment opportunities, create market maps outlining industry landscapes by vertical /sub-verticals, and identify underlying trends. You will also help enhance and maintain Picus’ internal crypto/web3 knowledge dashboard with the most relevant resources and tools.
Strategy: Help strengthen Picus’ brand and network by being an active contributor to the crypto ecosystem and attending local crypto events.

Analytical:
- You have a strong academic background; a technical background or experience in data science is a plus.
- You have gathered first-hand practical experience in venture capital, tech, start-up, TradFi or consulting (e.g. internships, working student, etc.).
- You have experience interacting with web3 protocols and applications, a native understanding of blockchain technology/crypto and a genuine passion about the space.
- You are an analytical thinker with strong attention to detail and a pragmatic approach to solving problems.
