REI Co-op is seeking a Venture Fellow to support its venture capital arm – Path Ahead Ventures. This is an exciting opportunity to work on strategic investments that support REI’s business and impact goals and help drive significant impact in the outdoor industry.
This is a part time role (5-10 hours/week) and will run for the Spring semester + will be remote.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assist in the sourcing and evaluation of early-stage investment opportunities.
- Support the evaluation and selection of the 2023 Navigate cohort.
- Identify emerging trends and perform market research to support investment strategy.
- Participate in creating compelling, detailed investment recommendations to the investment committee.
- The right candidate will also have the opportunity to work with a portfolio company on a strategic project.
What you bring to the role:
- You are a current MBA candidate.
- You are excited about the world of venture and startups and have a proactive, team-oriented mentality.
- You have prior professional experience in venture capital, investment banking, private equity, consulting, or in a strategy-related role in retail.
- You are deeply passionate about consumer products and entrepreneurship, with an empathy for the founder journey.
- You are analytical in your approach – you can navigate and synthesize information to distill the key points and tell a story.
