The Associate will assist in all aspects of the firm’s activities, including due diligence, acquisitions, divestitures, financing arrangements, strategy development and operational planning. The firm is leanly staffed so the Associate will work closely with senior investment professionals and management of the portfolio companies. The position is a 2-year program for individuals with prior experience as an analyst or research associate at a leading investment bank, leveraged loan or mezzanine lender, management consulting firm, private equity group, or other investment management experience. Upon completion of the program, exceptional performers may have an opportunity to stay on for a third year and potential permanent employment.

Responsibilities:
- Valuation analysis and financial modeling
- Business and industry due diligence
- Assist in the writing of internal investment reports and recommendations
- Evaluation of new investment ideas
- Portfolio company monitoring and strategy planning
- Participation in firm marketing
- Participation in transaction structuring, negotiations and debt financing
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a top ranked University. Business, financial or engineering degree preferred but not required
- 2-3+ years of investment banking, equity research, leveraged lending, consulting, private equity, corporate M&A, or other investment management experience
- Superior financial analysis and modeling skills, preferably with M&A or leveraged finance experience
- Ability to source, research and synthesize industry data, metrics and reports
- Strong work ethic; ability to work under limited supervision
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Enthusiastic, pro-active, positive attitude with good listening skills and high integrity
- A passion for private equity; investing in middle market companies and working with management teams
