Who you are: You want to enter the climate tech venture capital world. You can commit to Climate Capital for 12 months or more to gain first-hand experience working in VC. Prior VC experience is optional, but your strengths are your ability to research, learn new areas, compile investment memos, multi-task, and manage a community. You will also help us improve operations and ensure we provide the best support for our portfolio companies.  The role will prepare the associate for a full-time associate/principal role at one of Climate Capital’s funds or a partner VC firm.

Compensation: $85k-$100k & carry on deals you work on

Time Commitment: Full-time

Location: Remote with ability to work in US time zones

Prior Experience: 2-3 years in consulting, Investment Banking, or Chief of Staff / operator at a start-up

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing

    • Supporting Lead Partner + Deal partners in sourcing via VC and incubator partnerships.

    • Responsible for deal-flow digest into Deal partners on a weekly basis

    • As time allows responsible for additional sourcing deals

    • Maintenance of CRM

  • Diligence

    • The associate runs the nuts and bolts of diligence on every deal

    • Pre-meeting research about the company, it’s competitors and a list of potential questions to cover on the call

    • Diligence tasks defined by Lead Partner for C3 that can be accomplished using the data room of a company.

    • The associate is responsible for the creation of the investment memo

  • Raising

    • AngelList deal setup

    • Email updating across various LP lists.

    • Drafting update posts to be sent by deal runner.

    • Following up with LPs to ensure wires get in.

    • Working with AL reps to close and wire deals

  • Infrastructure

    • Spend 10 hours a week supporting the lead partner in infrastructure initiatives (e.g., prep for & note taking at Tier 1 VC meeting, website modifications, Portfolio support)

  • Community Management

    • Manage our founder community

    • Make sure founder questions are answered or directed to the right person

    • Maintenance of CRM

  • Content

    • Manage the blog post on Climate Capital’s website

    • Set up the live sessions with our founder community

    • Ensure recordings are uploaded to google drive and shared with the community

    • Make sure the website is up to date

  • Fund Administration

    • AngelList deal setup for CCRF investments

    • Working with AL reps to close and wire deals

    • Responsible for deal-flow digest into Deal partners on a weekly basis

    • Make sure Climate Capital Funds and Syndicate leads have the resources to succeed

  • Partnerships

    • Build and manage partnerships with companies that can provide awesome resources to our founder community
