VC Analyst @ Impression Ventures in Toronto, Canada

Impression Ventures

You may have heard of our new fund. Or maybe you’ve wondered who invested in that great fintech and heard of us that way. Or maybe you’ve never heard of us but found your way here because you’re interested in getting into Venture Capital. Either way, we’re hiring and looking for our next amazing Analyst! Read on to find out more about the opportunity.

The Job Description — Analyst

Impression Ventures invests in early-stage startup companies that are disrupting all aspects of financial services. We are seed investors in some of North America’s fastest growing fintech companies such as Wealthsimple, Symend, Owl, Afficiency and so many more. That’s the technical description of who we are but there’s so much more to what we do!

We take an active role in investing into late-Seed and early Series A companies. We provide strategic value to our portfolio companies — 20 to date — as well as all our Limited Partners, including two of Canada’s largest banks. We are now on our fourth fund, have funded one fintech unicorn and we are ready to find the next! Are you ambitious, proactive and ready for the next challenge?

We are currently hiring for the role of Analyst. Your day-to-day will include everything from deal screening to communicating with Limited Partners as well as the CEOs of our portfolio companies. You will have the opportunity to support and manage equity investments, relationships, and strategic initiatives. You are encouraged to join weekly strategy meetings with our portfolio companies to get a front-row view of supporting and building massive businesses. We pride ourselves on having an inclusive team and decision-making process — We don’t make an investment until every team member is on-board with the opportunity. The analyst team is small but mighty, and interacts daily with the senior partners. While we collaborate regularly, Impression Ventures does not believe in micromanagement. Your voice, opinion and ideas will be expected, respected and heard, and we offer a tremendous amount of training and mentorship. Are you excited yet?

Diversity is the key to our investment philosophy & innovation. We continue to build an inclusive network & community, forging strong connections with our internal team, our Limited Partners and the Fintech companies in our portfolio. We strongly believe that different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds create a stronger and more creative work environment, better investment decisions, which in turn delivers better results.

At Impression Ventures we encourage unity & inclusion, and our company culture is free of discrimination regardless of gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, neurodiversity, disability status, citizenship, or any other aspect which makes you unique.

You must be highly self-motivated with a deep interest in fintech startups and impressive interpersonal skills. Are you ready to break down barriers? Do you have what it takes to join our amazing team?
