POSITION SUMMARY

Hannon Armstrong is currently seeking an Analyst or Associate on the Investment Team to join our team in Annapolis, MD. This individual will support one or more of the Grid-Connected, BTM or New Markets groups within the broader Investment Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Investing activities

Support transaction and due diligence processes for debt/equity investments and acquisition activity, including analyzing terms in underlying project agreements which may impact economic returns.

Build and manage financial models, including underlying project operating proformas, to analyze and structure investments and evaluate associated risks. Build and manage portfolio models, incorporating underlying project/partnership models. Work closely with the broader Investment Team supporting all facets of investment execution, from initial qualification evaluation, term sheet development, internal investment proposal, due diligence, and documentation closing.

Market assessments

Support expansion and growth plans in markets through robust assessment of market potential and characteristics including but not limited to climate impact, maturity (technology and readiness to scale), competitive landscape, key risks, and management approaches. Prepare fundamental assessments of market size, supply and demand balances, potential client company overviews, pricing expectations, key regulatory and or policy dependencies and opportunities.

EDUCATION AND PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution; CFA and/or MBA preferred

1-4 years’ experience in finance, energy or environmental markets preferred

Strong MS Excel financial modeling and data mining skills, with demonstrable experience working with complex models.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative, entrepreneurial environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Self-starter, collaborative team player, attention to detail
