Converge VC
Converge VC is a Cambridge, MA-based venture capital fund with a focus on investing in great B2B technology companies in multiple geographies. Our current portfolio includes companies in Austin, Boston, NYC, Miami, Seattle, San Francisco, Toronto, Germany, and Israel. The firm invests at the seed and early-stage rounds of high-potential companies driving the next wave of automation for businesses. The firm is co-founded and led by two General Partners with a combined 45+ years of investing experience in B2B enterprise tech and venture capital. Converge closed its most recent fund in January 2022 and is actively investing.
Position:
We are looking to add an Analyst to the Investment team. The Analyst will work alongside the senior investment professionals to support all aspects of investment sourcing, evaluation, cap table modeling, term sheet drafting, and deal processing including:
- Identifying new investment opportunities sourced from traditional channels (e.g., conferences, demo days, events) and informal networks (e.g. other VCs, events); this is primarily a “sourcing” role to discover, early, the right new investments for the firm
- First meetings/screening meetings with founders to assess potential fit
- Conducting investment due diligence in the form of financial modeling, customer interviews/references, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking
- Writing investment memos
- Working with portfolio companies as needed
- Participation in and contribution to the firm’s investment decisions
- Assisting with fund administration, reporting, and ad-hoc projects
- 2-year (minimum) role, with potential for upward movement with proven sourcing abilities
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to conduct primary research and deal sourcing, and show the aptitude to assess B2B technology market opportunities. The Analyst will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as he/she demonstrates capability.
Qualifications:
Specific qualifications for the Analyst role include:
- BA/BS from rigorous undergraduate program with strong academic record; CS/EE/ME majors preferred
- One to two years’ work experience at management consulting firm or technology-focused investment bank with experience in strategic market/company analysis preferred;
- Candidates from leading equity research groups, lateral VC Analysts, tech incubators/accelerators, and undergrads with prior internship experience at a start-up or in an investment role considered
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills; budding commercial/business instincts
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
- Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit; can work independently and knows when to seek guidance
- Ability to build personal relationships and large networks with entrepreneurs and peers/colleagues at other VC firms
- Energized to attend tech/start-up/entrepreneurial ecosystem events (in person and online) to meet new people/entrepreneurs; can easily/comfortably build relationships and then maintain a professional network
