Overview:
Outlaw Ventures is launching a venture fund to invest in early-stage regenerative consumer brands. Our venture capital firm is seeking a Co-Founder and Managing Director to help lead our early-stage investment efforts in the consumer packaged goods industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial acumen and a deep passion for regenerative agriculture and the consumer packaged goods industry.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate investment opportunities in the early-stage CPG sector, including conducting due diligence, financial analysis, and risk assessments.
- Lead negotiations with entrepreneurs, co-investors, and other stakeholders to structure investment deals and drive favorable outcomes for the firm and our portfolio companies.
- Support fundraising efforts for the firm, including developing and maintaining relationships with potential investors, preparing fundraising materials, and participating in investor meetings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, and other stakeholders to stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in regenerative agriculture and the CPG sector.
- Develop and implement investment strategies that align with the firm’s objectives and risk tolerance.
- Provide strategic guidance and operational support to portfolio companies, including assisting with fundraising, strategic planning, and growth initiatives.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, events, and other networking opportunities to promote the firm’s brand and identify new investment opportunities.
- Report regularly to the firm’s investors on the status of the portfolio and the performance of individual investments.
- Assist in establishing the legal structure of the fund and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, or investment banking. Experience focusing on the food and agriculture industry and especially early-stage investments in the CPG industry preferred.
- Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills, with a deep understanding of financial markets and investment principles.
- Deep passion for and understanding of the regenerative agriculture movement and CPG industry landscape, market trends, and emerging technologies.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance issues related to venture capital investing.
